Uploading a File/Photo to Google Classroom

7th January 2021F Frazer

It is brilliant to see so many of you have now accessed the invitation to your year group remote learning google classroom. Can we ask that you upload your child’s work to their own classroom to match each ‘assignment’? This is so that you are not uploading directly to the ‘stream’ the stream can be seen by the whole class so it’s better to upload your work to your own ‘classwork folder’ then it automatically saves to your child’s own special folder and teachers can then comment to your child individually -not to the whole class.

Click here to follow a link to a video to demonstrate how to upload files/photographs to google classroom on all devices. The the way you upload is slightly different depending on what device you are using. Don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any problems and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

YEAR 2 Children we need your help!

23rd June 2020F Frazer
Year 2 Children we need your help!
Mrs Dixon and Mrs Frazer are sad that we didn’t get to celebrate your time with us at Biddick Hall Infants and Nursery school at a leavers assembly so we would like to create an e-yearbook for you and your grownups to celebrate your time with us. This week you have two jobs to do as part of your home learning.
1. This week it would have Design Technology week in school.  We would have been designing and creating a Year 2 Leavers T-shirt.  We’d like you to design one anyway! Ask your adult to draw you a nice big t-shirt outline.  Now use pens and pencils to put the design on.  When it is finished ask your grown up to photograph this and send it to the school’s email address:

[email protected].uk, or Purple mash 2do set.

Think about what information would be on a leavers t-shirt:

  • Your name

  • Teacher’s name

  • The year

  • Patterns or pictures

  • Your friends’ names

2.Have a chat with your grown up about your favourite memories of being at our school you could discuss: What was your favourite thing that happened at school? Did you have a favourite trip? What were your favourite games to play at playtime? Did you enjoy learning about a particular topic or subject? Do you have a message for a teacher who has helped you?

We would ask that grown-ups E-mail your responses as soon as they can to [email protected].uk subject: memories. Don’t forget to include your name.

We’d love to include as many leavers t-shirt designs and individual memories  as possible in our yearbook, Thank you for your help,
Mrs Frazer and Mrs Dixon xx

Kidsafe KS Learns about COVID19

5th June 2020F Frazer

Biddick Hall Infant and Nursery School is a ‘Kidsafe’ school. All children in our school from Reception to Year 2 take part in regular Kidsafe sessions where trained staff talk to children in an age appropriate way about how to stay safe. There is also a huge emphasis on  discussion around emotional and mental health in the sessions. Children are able to identify a ‘trusted grown up’ to talk with if they have ‘yukky’ feelings. Those are the feelings that make us worry and sometimes make our tummies ‘feel funny’.

Our children have now been away from school for a number of weeks, they have not been able to see their teachers, friends and wider family members. They will be aware and maybe worried about this awful virus and it may have caused some ‘yukky feelings’.

Sophie Cox a ‘Kidsafe’ trained teacher from another local school in  our area has put together this lovely video for your child to watch. Please ensure that you watch the video with your child in case they need to talk through any ‘yukky feelings’ they may have with you their trusted grown up.

Click here to follow the link to watch the video.

If you are worried about your child and need further advice don’t hesitate to contact school in the usual way either by email [email protected] or via telephone 01914244859

KS Misses you all very much. Stay Safe.
